The Guidelines for Cosmetic Advertising and Labelling Claims represent the culmination of a collaborative effort among ASC (formerly the Canadian Advertising Foundation), and Health Canada (HC).

These Guidelines were first published in 1998 and are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the evolution of the marketplace and the dynamics of the industry.

The Guidelines:

• Utilize a new, more user-friendly format.
• Provide advertisers more flexibility in creating advertising messages that comply with Canadian regulatory requirements.
• Will be used by ASC to provide cosmetic broadcast advertising clearance services.
