Created by the advertising industry in 1957, Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) was founded on the belief that advertising self-regulation best serves the interests of the industry and the public. This principle has continued to guide ASC’s work and activities for close to 50 years.

As the advertising industry, national, not-for-profit, self-regulatory body, ASC is committed to fostering community confidence in advertising and to ensuring the integrity and viability of advertising in Canada through responsible industry self-regulation.

ASC Clearance Services facilitates regulatory compliance by providing industry an objective and independent advertising copy review and advisory service. This fee-based service helps advertisers in specific regulated product categories to comply with pertinent laws and regulations that neither ASC has the authority to change or control.
