2007 Q3 Ad Complaints Report now online
The 2007 Q3 Ad Complaints Report (for July 1 to September 30, 2007) provides case summaries of consumers’ complaints about advertising that were upheld by the Consumer Response Councils under the provisions of the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards.


ASC breakfast seminar (Montreal): Green marketing
To help mark our 50th anniversary, ASC will host a breakfast seminar in Montreal on November 8 entitled Le marketing vert : La perception des consommateurs face à ce nouvel argument publicitaire.

ASC’s noted guest speaker, Professor Luc Dupont from the University of Ottawa Communications Department, will offer insights into:
  • consumer perceptions of green marketing, and
  • practical ways advertisers can incorporate environmental messaging into ad and publicity campaigns.

ASC members are invited to attend the upcoming breakfast seminar, Avoiding Landmines: How to Support Comparative Advertising Claims, in Toronto on November 21.

ASC’s distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Ruth Corbin, will provide practical, no-nonsense advice about:
  • what to do to prepare for a comparative claim;
  • cautions from case law: outcomes of comparative claims that went to trial; and
  • using ASC's Guidelines for the Use of Comparative Advertising and Guidelines for the Use of Research and Survey Data to Support Comparative Advertising Claims.
