ASC Participates in Global Self-Regulation Workshop

On August 8th - 9th 2014, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Advertising Standards Forum held a two-day workshop on advertising self-regulation. Held in Beijing, China and hosted by the Chinese Association of National Advertisers (CANA) and the Australian Advertising Bureau (ASB), the event focused on advertising best practices and fostering an alignment of standards for advertising across APEC markets. Interest Based Advertising

Canada’s Ad Choices program gives consumers more information and choice about the advertising they see online. The Canadian Ad Choices program was launched in September 2013 by Canada’s largest advertising and marketing associations that make up the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC). (more)

ASC to Launch new PSA Campaign

In early 2015, ASC will launch our latest PSA campaign. The goal of the campaign is to build consumer awareness of the advertising industry’s commitment to standards for advertising. Developed by Anderson DDB Health & Lifestyle, the new campaign builds upon ASC’s "Truth in Advertising Matters" mantra. ASC Clearance Releases new Cosmetic Guidelines

In May 2014, ASC Clearance Services launched new Guidelines for the Nonprescription and Cosmetic Industry Regarding Non-therapeutic Advertising and Labelling Claims. The new Guidelines represent the culmination of a collaborative effort among ASC, Heath Canada (HC) and the industry. (more)

ASC Clearance to Present Introductory Workshop on Marketed Health Products

This Fall, ASC Clearance Services will be presenting an introductory-level workshop to help nonprescription drug and natural health product advertisers and their agencies apply Health Canada’s Consumer Advertising Guidelines for Marketed Health Products (Guidelines). Sessions will be held in both Toronto and Montreal on October 30th and November 6th. (more)
